8. Knock on Wood

Screenshot-2152

Once upon a time, many moons ago, we saw the Knights elect a couple of the circle generation to become joint heirs – Twister…

Screenshot-2210

…and elder sister Ladybird.

Screenshot-2154

…They are aided in their task of bringing in the wood generation by Steve Texas.

Screenshot-2153

Who does kind of like Ladybird, even if she pretty much had to stalk him to get to this stage.

Screenshot-2156

I gave the boys triplets…
a girl

coffin-merrion-zoom

called Coffin.

pinocchio

Two boys – Pinocchio

bread

and Bread Bin.

Screenshot-2211

Despite all the usual measures such as kids’ TV and music (not enough LTH for fertility treatment), Ladybird gave birth to ONE SINGLE, SOLITARY KID.

drumstick

His name is Drumstick.

Screenshot-2215

Although Chess died, Shirley still lives and is able to help out with the kids.

Screenshot-2217

We got Ladybird pregnant again just before she could become an elder, and the babies became toddlers. This is Bread Bin.

Screenshot-2219

Coffin – who has her papa’s eyes.

Screenshot-2213

Pinocchio…

Screenshot-2298

…and Drumstick. Two out of four who’ve picked up some of their father’s colouring is OK, I guess.

Screenshot-2224

Screenshot-2225

Screenshot-2226

Screenshot-2227

Screenshot-2228

Screenshot-2229

Screenshot-2230

Screenshot-2232

Screenshot-2233

Red kitty gen picspam!

Screenshot-2231

We settled on this one

Screenshot-2234

I think he’s Red Dragon. It took so long to play this chapter I am having trouble remembering which child is which, never mind which cat.

Screenshot-2302

The cats’ colourings are quite in keeping with the wood theme.

Screenshot-2304

We found him a mate.

Rose Royce.

Screenshot-2305

Bless.

Screenshot-2214

Then Roaring Heights became a big steaming glitchy mess, so we left Steve, Shirley and the non-heir kitties there and moved to Aurora Skies.

Screenshot-2455

Where the kids aged up. This is Bread Bin…

Screenshot-2456

…Pinocchio…

Screenshot-2314

…Coffin…

Screenshot-2321

…and Drumstick.

Screenshot-2322

Early favourite…

Screenshot-2324

Hmm.. I think Rose Royce is secretly too pretty to be an uglacy cat, but non-elder adoptees are hard to come by.

Screenshot-2326

Baby time!

Screenshot-2331

The final member of this generation is called…

billy-bookcase__0252362_PE391155_S4

…Billy Bookcase.

Screenshot-2465

I really like the school rabbithole here.

Screenshot-2467

Screenshot-2466

Screenshot-2468

All a bit white and blonde, though.

Screenshot-2461

I didn’t realise at the time that this was a Scandinavian-style hood, which might not have been my best option for genetic diversity.

Screenshot-2308

OMG why is the game taunting me with all these priceless uglacy specimens?

Screenshot-2311

Age comes to Twister…

Screenshot-2332

…and Billy Bookcase becomes a toddler. Cute but notsomuch into that skin tone.

Screenshot-2328

More townie-hunting!

Screenshot-2329

At least not blonde…

Screenshot-2772

Blonde.

Screenshot-2775

Blonde.

Screenshot-2773

Not bad, but looks like Kevin in the film of We Need to Talk About Kevin so I’d end up afraid of crossbow incidents.

Screenshot-2774

Not bad, but a bit face-bland.

Screenshot-2778

Same.

Screenshot-2776

More blonde.

Screenshot-2784

Ladybird got old…

Screenshot-2782

Screenshot-2785

Screenshot-2783

And kittens got born. Their names are:

Code Orange Kids

Orange Juice

Tangerine Dream

and

Jason Orange.

Screenshot-2325

‘Which one is which?’

Search me, Pinocchio. I had to take screenshots to remember which kid was which, never mind the moggies.

Screenshot-2317

‘So which one am I?’

One of the ones that won’t be heir.

Screenshot-2787

I do like that this hood is quite wood-y given this generation’s theme.

Screenshot-2786

The kids all grew up. Coffin reminds me a bit of Annalise Populous from my WYDC.

Screenshot-2531

Billy Bookcase looks a little traumatised to be in his pants.

Screenshot-2528

Indeed, where the last gen were emo in a grumpy sort of way, this lot seem perennially sad. C’mon Pinocchio, it isn’t that bad.

Screenshot-2529

A smile, perchance, Drumstick?

Screenshot-2526

I’ll take that, Bread Bin, even if I know it’s because you’re not yet wearing wooden garments (I imagine they must be super-comfortable).

Screenshot-2626

Screenshot-2623

Screenshot-2624

Screenshot-2625

Kittehs!

Screenshot-2525

Kids looking somewhat possessed…

Screenshot-2621

G’bye Twister.

Screenshot-2598

I still fancy Drumstick for heir, he is the best mix of parents, I think.

Screenshot-2615

‘If I just sit here, will you let me be a child forever and then not have to worry about acidentally getting made heir or anything?’

Screenshot-2619

‘DAMN YOU WORLD’.

Screenshot-2618

So Billy Bookcase is also a teen.

Screenshot-2616

He is cute enough but there are enough white blonde sims in this town, let’s face it.

Screenshot-2805

Speaking of which…

Screenshot-2791

Let’s assemble a bunch of sims and age them up in an not-at-all creepy fashion.

Screenshot-2803

Hi Kevin. stay away from small creatures and sharp objects.

Screenshot-2804

Hello Face One. We won’t be needing your services, but nice of you to attend.

Screenshot-2810

You may be blonde, but you are quite cute, so…

Screenshot-2812

Eh.

Screenshot-2814

What about you, little androgynous being?

Screenshot-2815

Mmmm… maybe?

Screenshot-2816

Although if you want to go ahead and add more mixed-race babies to the hood, that’s also good.

Screenshot-2797

Holy crap, what kind of CC accident is that?

Screenshot-2799

It isn’t 2010 any more, you know.

Screenshot-2800

Let’s sort you out with age-appropriate hair and clothing.

Screenshot-2801

…or not.

Screenshot-2807

Much better.

Screenshot-2823

We interrupt the formalities of ageing up the kids and pretending the heir isn’t already decided to bring you some cats growing up!

Screenshot-2828

Screenshot-2830

Screenshot-2834

Screenshot-2836

Find out which is heir next chapter as I haven’t decided yet (and there are no suitable mates to adopt anyway).

Screenshot-2842

Bread Bin is so unloved that he was at the Beakers’ house when he had his birthday.

Screenshot-2848

He is a proper, artistic, friendly technophobe who hates the outdoors yet wants to be a master acrobat.

Screenshot-2849

Coffin, meanwhile, has a whole Molly Ringwald vibe going on. She is an adventurous, frugal, genius, loner cat person who wants to be a cat herder. Fingers crossed all those moggies don’t eat her body when she dies alone, eh? She’s also likely to be the recipient of the spare cats seeing as though she wants them.

Screenshot-2853

Pinocchio is childish, never nude, athletic, friendly and a diva who wants to be a vocal legend.

Screenshot-2855

And Drumstick is neurotic, family-oriented, charismatic, hydrophobic and a virtuoso who wants to be surrounded by family.

Screenshot-2856

He’s also (duh) going to be the heir.

Screenshot-2859

So we may as well age up Billy Bookcase.

Screenshot-2860

I think he will fit very well into the Scandi-vibe of this town.

Screenshot-2862

Meanwhile, I’d grown quite fond of Ms Wardrobe Mishap.

Screenshot-2863

Her name is Jennika Wong.

Screenshot-2868

She and Drumstick are pretty into each other already.

Screenshot-2869

With the legacy future secured, Ladybird checked out.

Screenshot-2871

These two got to more romancing…

Screenshot-2878

Screenshot-2874

Aww.

Screenshot-2875

So we got to do this.

Screenshot-2877

But then this happened.

Screenshot-2879

So more of this ensued.

Screenshot-2880

As did this.

Screenshot-2881

And this.

Screenshot-2883

Nevermind…

Screenshot-2867

…make babies first and we can discuss weddings later.

Join us next time for swirls and curls gen!

  1. I am so glad you picked wardrobe malfunction. She was cute after you reassembled her. The kittens are adorable as always. Drumstick is a good choice! I hope you don’t have as much trouble getting them knocked up as you did getting them married.

As always, it’s nice to see the family again. RIP Twister and Ladybird.

I should rename her really, seeing as wardrobes are wooden. Kitties are supposed to be ugly not cute, damn Rose Royce’s genes…

  2. I love these guys, especially this generation, they’re all so pretty. Though I totally agree, Drumstick was the best mix of genetics. Love his green eyes with the dark skin! And I’m always so jealous of your names, such cool choices; I never think to name the kids after *things* but it totally works.

  3. Ha, oh man – W.M. was hilarious. And a good match for Drum too! Who yes, was obviously the heir – for reals. Looking forward to babies!

I’ve been reading your stories for years now but this is my first comment. I’d love to publish a legacy challenge story on a blog but I was wondering if you’d recommend that since I’m NOT getting the sims 4.

I’ve been reading your stories for years. This is my first comment and it’s a question. Do you think it’s be worth it for me to make my first legacy challenge on a blog? I’m asking because I’m not getting the sims 4 and I’m not sure if people would be interested in a sims 3 legacy story from a newbie.

I think it’s up to you if you want to blog or not but loads of Sims 3 (and 2) blogs are going strong so I am sure you would get readers. I don’t have sims 4 either.
